TravelAJK is Pakistan's dedicated digital tourism directory for Azad Jammu & Kashmir. We list verified hotels, resorts, guesthouses, cottages, and camping sites across AJK — from Muzaffarabad to the upper Neelum Valley. Every listing is manually reviewed before going live.

Yes — completely free for travellers. There are no booking fees, no service charges, and no commission deducted from your stay. You contact the property directly and pay them directly. We never touch your payment.

Every property submission goes through a manual review by our team before it appears on the site. We check that the property exists, that the contact details are accurate, and that the listing information is not misleading. We do not (yet) conduct physical site inspections, but we remove listings that receive verified complaints.

Not yet — the website is fully mobile-optimised and works well on all smartphones. A native app is on our roadmap.

You can either submit a Booking Request through the property's detail page (which records your dates and details in our system and notifies the owner), or contact the owner directly via WhatsApp using the button on the listing. For most AJK properties, WhatsApp is the fastest and most reliable way to confirm availability.

You pay the property owner directly — at the property, or via bank transfer as agreed with them. TravelAJK does not process payments or hold your money. We are a directory, not a booking agent.

Cancellation terms are set by each individual property. Ask the owner about their policy before confirming. Most AJK guesthouses and small hotels have flexible cancellation policies, but resorts and peak-season bookings may require a deposit.

When you submit a Booking Request through our platform, you receive a reference number (e.g. TAK-2025-00142). This lets you track your request at travelajk.com/bookings/[your-ref]. The property owner will confirm or decline the request, and you will be notified. This system does not guarantee availability — it is a structured enquiry.

Pakistani nationals do not need a permit to enter AJK itself. However, certain areas close to the Line of Control — including parts of upper Neelum Valley (e.g. Taobat, beyond Kel) and some border areas in Poonch — require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the AJK Home Department. Foreign nationals require additional permissions. Always check with local authorities before visiting restricted zones.

May to September is peak season across most of AJK. Neelum Valley and alpine destinations like Ratti Gali and Shounter Lake are accessible June–September. Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot are pleasant year-round. Many upper valley roads close from November to April due to snowfall.

Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, and Banjosa are accessible in a standard sedan. For upper Neelum Valley (beyond Keran), Leepa Valley, and Shounter Lake, a 4×4 jeep is strongly recommended — and often required. Local jeep rentals are available at major stops.

Major towns (Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Mirpur) have strong coverage. Coverage thins out significantly beyond Keran in Neelum Valley. Taobat, Shounter, and Ratti Gali have no reliable network. Download offline maps (Maps.me or Google Maps offline) before heading to upper valleys.

AJK has been welcoming tourists for decades and is generally considered safe. The main practical risks are road conditions (especially after monsoon rains), altitude sickness at higher elevations, and flash flooding in valley areas. Always check road conditions before travel and inform someone of your itinerary.

No. TravelAJK does not charge any commission on bookings. Guests contact you directly and pay you directly. We are building a sustainable platform — future premium features (highlighted listings, analytics dashboards) will be optional and paid, but the core directory listing will remain free.
